Welcome to the Kalamazoo Human Resources Management Association. Your membership will provide
you with many opportunities to meet new friends, network for job opportunities, and exchange
helpful information with fellow HR managers.
The Kalamazoo Human Resource Management Association (KHRMA) is an organization for Human
Resource Professionals with responsibilities in Human Resources Administration, Employee/Labor
Relations, Training and Development, Compensation, Benefits and Performance Management.
KHRMA also serves as a local chapter for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM),
a national organization with more than 180,000 members. KHRMA is dedicated to providing support
and leadership for the growth and development of the profession.
History
KHRMA began in 1969 as the Kalamazoo Personnel Association (KPA).
KHRMA currently boasts of membership of over 250 active members.
Purpose
To provide a means for individuals in the human resource profession to meet
regularly, to exchange ideas and to discuss experiences of common interest, and
to otherwise enjoy the advantages of mutual acquaintance and friendship.
To
promote the growth and development of sound human resource practices for all
employees in the community.
To encourage the application of scientific methods,
procedures, and techniques to human problems in the workplace.
To broaden the
vision of its members in human resource matters through mutual education and
assistance; thereby increasing professionalism. KHRMA is an affiliate Chapter,
#0116, of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
To participate in
other activities which will assist the members to more effectively discharge
their responsibilities to management, employees, and the community. | |
